About

I'm a pricing actuary in Bengaluru, India, currently working on a high-net-worth home insurance portfolio for the Australian market. I use data, statistics and code for most of what I do.

How I got here

1. Engineering. I studied Mechanical Engineering (B.E.), which gave me a habit of first-principles problem solving.
2. Software. I started my career as a developer at Infosys, building production systems in Java and later Python, R and React.
3. Actuarial. I moved into actuarial work, first in life insurance at LIC of India, then P&C pricing at EY GDS and now in HNW property pricing.

Because I've done both jobs, I can build the model and also the pipeline, tool or interface that puts it to use.

What I do

• Frequency, severity and retention modelling (GLM, GBM, SHAP)
• Large-loss treatment, truncated and censored claims fitting, reinsurance layer adjustments
• MGA and bordereaux data management, portfolio reviews and monitoring
• AI engineering: RAG with pgvector, agentic pipelines, MCP integrations, full-stack Python/React
